Companies that sell, install or service home elevators, through-floor lifts, pneumatic vacuum elevators, platform lifts, stairlifts and dumbwaiters. Names and contact details come from Overture Maps and each business's own website. A listing is not a recommendation. ### Does a listing show prices? Only when published on the business website or added by the company. Overture Maps and most dealer websites publish no installed prices, and PrivateElevators never invents them. Our cost guide gives sourced price ranges, and the dealer gives you a written quote after a site survey. ### What is the difference between a home elevator and a through-floor lift? A home elevator has a cab that runs in a hoistway, and can serve two or more floors. A through-floor lift is a compact platform or cab that travels between two floors through an opening in the ceiling, with no full shaft. Ask a dealer which fits your home. ### How do I check that an installer is licensed? Rules differ by place. In many US states and Canadian provinces the elevator contractor and mechanic need a licence, and the lift needs a permit and an inspection. Ask the company for its licence number and check it with the state or provincial authority.
